Automatic migration is scheduled for 5 October 2026.
1. Why this change ?
The European regulation on instant transfers now requires all institutions within the SEPA area to offer this payment method under the same conditions as standard SEPA transfers. To offer you better service coverage and an optimised payment experience, we are updating the payment policies associated with the simplified transfer option in your Virement Maitrisé solution. These changes simplify our offering and improve the transparency of your payment processing. Your solution will now offer three payment policies and two levels of confirmation.
2. Les 3 nouvelles politiques de paiement
Policy | How it works | Use Case |
Instant ⚡ | Transfers are processed instantly. Compatible with almost all French and European banks. Banks that are not compatible are not displayed at the payment stage. The fastest option for an optimal payment experience. | E-commerce · In Store · Refills |
Standard ⏱ | Bank transfers are processed via the standard SEPA scheme. Compatible with all banks, including business accounts. Payment confirmation may take up to one working day. This option requires the ‘Pending’ status to be managed. | B2B · Billing · High Amounts |
Flex 🔀 | Automatically selects the best method: instant transfer where available, then switches to a standard SEPA transfer if necessary. Maximises the acceptance rate whilst prioritising instant payments. This option requires the ‘Pending’ status to be managed | B2B · B2C · Mixed audiences |
3. Payment confirmation
Payment confirmation is now a separate setting within the policy. It determines at what point a payment is considered confirmed in your system.
Level | How it works |
Authorised | Confirmation will be provided as soon as authorisation is received from the payer’s bank. The funds have not yet been credited to your bank account. |
Received | Confirmation will only be given once the funds have actually been received in the purchase account. No payment will be confirmed until the funds are available in the purchase account. |
With the ‘Authorised’ level, your system receives a payment confirmation before the funds are actually credited. In the vast majority of cases, the funds arrive within seconds (SEPA Instant) or within 1 to 2 working days (standard SEPA). This level is suitable for recurring payments and small amounts. In rare cases, a bank authorisation may be granted without the funds ultimately being received. Virement Maitrisé cannot be held liable in such cases
With the ‘Received’ status, no confirmation is issued until the funds have actually been credited to the receiving account. This status is recommended for large amounts. For instant transfers, it may take a few extra seconds before the confirmation is sent.
4. What actually changes depending on your profile
A new setting is now available: the payment confirmation level. You can choose between ‘Authorised’ and ‘Received’ depending on your business needs.
Recommended action: set your confirmation level before 5 October 2026. If you do not make a choice, the same level you currently have will be applied automatically.
5. How to change my configuration
An update to your configuration is available on your console. Once it is available, here’s what to do:
1. Log into your console Virement Maitrisé
2. Go to Shops or Applications from the side menu
3. Look out for the ‘Update’ label displayed on the shops and apps affected by the migration
4. Click on the shop or app you wish to set up
5. Go to the ‘Payment’ tab
6. The two fields to be configured are labelled ‘Update’: select your choice from the drop-down menu for each one
7. Click 'Save changes'
The changes take effect immediately for new payments. Existing payments are not affected.
6. Automatic migration of 05/10/2026
If you do not make any changes before 5 October 2026, your settings will be updated automatically:
● Payment policy: migration to the policy that most closely matches your current setup.
● Payment confirmation: the same level you are currently on will be applied by default.
No service disruption is expected during this migration. You will be able to change your settings at any time after the switchover date.
7. Q&A
Will my current payments be affected by the migration ?
No. The migration applies only to new payments initiated after 5 October 2026. Payments already in progress will follow the configuration in force at the time they were initiated.
Can I change my settings after the migration ?
Yes. You can freely adjust your settings from among the new policies available for your account type.
I don't know which policy I should choose. What should I do ?
Please contact our support team at support@virementMaitrisé.societegenerale.eu : we will help you identify the configuration best suited to your business.
What's the level "Received" will change for me ?
With this level, your system will only receive payment confirmation once the funds are actually available in the acquiring account. For Instant transfers, this usually takes a few seconds. For SEPA transfers, confirmation may take up to 1–2 working days after the payment is initiated.
A very small number of banks do not support Instant Transfer. Which ones ?
The list is available in our dedicated article. The only notable exception in France is LCL for corporate payment accounts.
What happens if I don’t do anything by 5 October 2026 ?
Your configuration will be automatically migrated to the policy that most closely matches your current configuration. The authorisation level will remain unchanged at “Authorised”. No service disruption is expected.
